AI assistant
AI Assistant is a chat for drafting. It does not replace the exam page, and it does not publish anything to students.
Open it
Section titled “Open it”Choose AI Assistant in the sidebar. A new chat starts when you send a message or pick a starter. Previous chats stay in the list on the side. On a small screen, that list is behind the history button.
The welcome screen offers four starters:
| Starter | What it asks for |
|---|---|
| Generate exam questions | A mixed set for a named topic, grade, and time |
| Create a rubric | A four-level analytic guide |
| Explain a concept | A classroom explanation, including a hook and common misconceptions |
| Grade a sample answer | Feedback and next steps against a rubric |
Type your own prompt if none of those fit. A draft you type before sending is kept if you refresh the empty assistant page.
What it is, and is not
Section titled “What it is, and is not”The assistant can help you think through a paper, a rubric, or an explanation. Questions that should appear on an exam still have to be generated or added on that exam, then approved, before a share link will serve them. Chat text is not a submission.
Once a document has finished text extraction, the assistant can use your indexed passages rather than only general knowledge. If extraction has not finished, it does not have that material yet. See Document processing.
A finished assistant reply spends AI credits, the same pool as question generation. If the reply fails before it completes, that reservation is released. Balances are on Billing & Plan. Your plan may also cap how many assistant messages the workspace can send in a period.
